I've just submitted a short reflection to Christine's site - here's your invitation to join the party too...
Our 9th Poetry Party — what fun! I select an image and suggest a title and invite you to respond with your poems, words, reflections, quotes, song lyrics, etc. Leave them in the comments or email me and I’ll add them to the body of the post as they come in along with a link back to your blog if you have one (not required to participate!) I’ll add your contributions all week and then I will draw a name on Friday again from everyone who participates and will send the winner a copy of my newest zine Callings.
As Christine describes in the invitation, this is her ninth such online "party." There are some beautiful entries and I was actually moved to submit something today. If you haven't time to visit Christine and look "me" up - here's what I had to say -
The eyes in the car window gaze back at me
They’re my mother’s eyes
No, they’re my eyes!
I feel old
I feel sad
I look away
I look back yearning for more
I see eyes in the car window gaze back at me
They’re my daughter’s eyes
No, they’re my eyes!
I feel renewed and so grateful…..

ReplyDeleteLucy and Abbey - I knew the words today as soon as I saw the invitation....."this eyes in the car window" was an actual event that I've never been able to express to anyone. I'm so happy to share it with you. Your words are reassuring.
ReplyDeleteI love this too, the change of pace from sadness to renewal. It's lovely, and full of hope.
