I highly recommend a visit to Abbey of the Arts Christine's invitation to submit a piece of art, poetry, song, whatever warms our hearts, to her first 2008 Poetry Party is truly a fun challenge. The photo copied here from Christine's blog is to be the inspiration for the poetry piece.
I've submitted my own words below to the poetry party - but you'll find many posts, other than mine, worthy of your time - take a look!
From what do they flee - or flee not at all
From what do they hide - from nothing at all
In mist and in fog they fly on their way
With no thought at all of today, their last day
From what do we flee - or flee not at all
From what do we hide - no - nothing at all
In mist and in fog we go on our way with no thought at all of
Today our last day
And if they should die in the fog and in mist
Won’t they fly with real joy toward the Son to be kissed
And if we should die in our fog and real mist
Will we rejoice any less than by God being kissed

first, i will comment on the poem...so beautifully moving. i love how you have woven the birds journey in with our own. i think this is by favorite line: "Won’t they fly with real joy toward the Son to be kissed" your words have captured what i attempted to say en espanol.
ReplyDeletesecond, you've been busy at the site. i love the new look although i do miss the color of the old mind sieve :-) the picture of riley is adorable. who would know by that serence photo what an avid reader and hunter he is?

ReplyDeleteCouldn't sleep last night. Could not get the links to work. Finally got Abbey of the Arts to link but now the link is not highlighted in any way so you can't obviously link back - argh. Learning curves are actually bigger than my "current bathing suit Maui curves" and those are sizable!
