This is the irrational season
When love blooms bright and wild.
Had Mary been filled with reason
There'd have been no room for the child.

The meditation in our church bulletin this morning was a Madeleine L'Engle quote.
ReplyDeleteI miss her.
Irrational indeed, and wonderful because of it.
ReplyDeleteSS, I am very much filled with "reason" these days. I long for what is bright and wild, but my pragmatism (which some say is actually pessimism) gets in my way. But, still, I know that I am filled with hope. I know this because each day I get up and try again and say a prayer and try again.
ReplyDeleteToday, my heart is wide open to the hope of this season, to all possibility. Today, I will make room for the Christ.
Thank you for the lovely poem.
Love...
Pollinatrix - Madeleine was a jewel and her legacy is rich for our keeping.
ReplyDeleteTess - practical ideas don't always render the best results. I'm glad Mary wasn't a control freak!
Rebecca - me too! My day is zooming by and it's a lovely one but my quiet time didn't really materialize this a.m. However, part of that time was spent in a glorious stretch for my body in yoga, part was slept sleeping until 8:00 a.m. and some of it was spent on a post.
To all THREE of you, I hope you'll read my post of Monday, today, as it is a bit about each of you (all all my blogger friends) in how fortunate I feel to have you as a part, albeit small part, of my life:) xoxoxox
oh believe me the irrationality of a mother's love - God's love - love period are speaking deeply to me this week. (i read this a few days ago just now coming back to comment...)
