Prompted by Penny I am reflecting on the following 3 thoughts –

1. What do you want to acknowledge yourself for in regard to 2007?
2. What is there to grieve about in 2007?
3. What else do you need to say about the year to declare it complete?

1. Acknowledgment of ordinary living that, for me, made life extraordinary in 2007
• Blogging and blog friends
• Exercise – the YMCA gym - a regular stop at least 3 times a week
• Family – visits to all 4 children’s homes – Taipei, Taiwan; Pelham, NY; Edwards, CO; Delray Beach, FL - visits from all four of our adult siblings from HI, TX, MN, WA
• Fitness/health – words I treasure
• Prayer – can’t live without it
• Relationships – friends and family priority
• Retirement - as of 12/31/2007
• Thanksgivings – must haves
• Worship – ditto

2. Acknowledgment of opportunities missed in 2007 – reasons to grieve
• Friends lost through death
• Family – not enough time spent together
• Friends – not enough time spent together

3. 2007 is over. It went way too fast

Looking forward to 2008 – Plans and resolutions
• Awareness of the daily business of “living”
• Blogging expansion – great fun, much better than tv or movies
• Exercise body – keep it up; eat right
• Exercise mind – continue second language pursuit, master my new MAC
• Exercise writing skills
• Expand my culinary skill
• Expand artistic efforts in two and three dimensional mediums
• Explore poetry forms
• Family – cherish every opportunity for togetherness
• Friendship – nourish and expand

I declare 2007 complete and 2008 as my year of expansion, exploration, friendship, and family

  5. Oops, I was actually responding to the post above this, but I liked this one too. It gave me some good ideas as well as prompted some much needed goal setting. Aren't lists energizing?
