Grey Day

Oppressive, melancholy
I flying against the density of life
Where is God in this grey

Suffocated sun
Fog reveling in its absence
I, knowing, wondering why

Cursing it
Withdrawing, pouting
Demanding the light

The greyness kidnapping my thoughts
Stealing my energy
Sabotaging my plans

I retreating into contemplation
Searching for the light
Crawling to the place of inner peace

Awakening, relieved – finding the light
Clasping it, wrapping it around my heart
Vowing not to let it escape with the Amen
