"To turn and put away"

Meaningful words I read during morning prayers this week. Words that I tried to carry with me each day this week....words that remain meaningful to me this Sunday a.m.

"....to turn aside from controversy and put away heavy loads of judgment and censorship and criticism and the whole burden of opinions that I have no obligation to carry."

Have a wonderful day and may the burden of unnecessary opinions be lifted from your heart and mind!

Years ago, I had a boyfriend who was, to say the least, opinionated. About everything, all the time.
Someone I met up with after a while enquired of me drily "And how is your friend with the views?".
I think he would have welcomed these words!

  2. tess--do you think he would welcome them or (possibly more likely) would those around him like for him to welcome them? just wondering.

SS--great words for a sacred life sunday!

  3. Spouse asked today how I'd done putting aside etc. this week....I find that I still have the judgments but am becoming more aware of "having those unneccessary to the world in any way" and just being aware that I DON"T have to spew forth....etc. makes a difference in me - hopefully@:)He seemed to think that "in his humble judgment that was a good thing:)"
